Caitlin Killian, a trauma RN and mom of four never anticipated to have her day completely turned around by an employee at Chick-fil-A. This is woman's Instagram post that we know will warm your hearts as much as it did ours.
"Something happened to me today, I feel like I need to tell.
A stranger made me cry.
A Chik Fil A employee actually. And I can’t stop thinking about it and crying, lots of crying. Y’all I couldn’t even eat my food for about 45 minutes because of all the tears.
The subject is something I don’t really divulge on much, because it’s a hard one for me. The struggles of having a special needs daughter. There are struggles, lots of them, and so much joy too. But lately I seem to get caught up in the struggles.. such as trying to homeschool her, more upcoming surgeries, etc. Its also hard not to be sad when I think about the things in life she misses out on.. like being invited to birthday parties and sleepovers. Normal 11 year old girl things.
I was ordering our lunch today after her follow up appointment about her ankle (more surgery to come) and the boy taking my order was standing outside of the car on my side. As I was trying to order, Lanie was continuing to try to talk to me, repeatedly telling me her order (she wants to make sure I don’t forget apparently). Not interrupting isn’t her strong point. Maybe I looked more frustrated than I felt. Not real sure. But this young man says to me “It’s ok. I have several people with special needs in my life, she is so special and just beautiful in every single way and her talking doesn’t bother me one bit. She’s such a joy.”
He was just so genuine.
I lost it. He probably thought I was crazy. Then me crying made him cry. It was a whole situation and I just can’t stop thinking about his kind words. How did he know I needed that so badly?
I know my girl is amazing and if you know her you love her. She’s also one of the toughest people I know. I’m so blessed to be her Momma."
